Dutch Skies as luxury scents in an everyday context

From ‘Eau de toilette’
to ‘on the toilet’

The Golden Age. The time when the Dutch Masters gave dramatic clouds an increasingly dominant role in their work, which led to the creation of ‘our’ world-famous Dutch skies. Skies in Dutch means ‘Luchten’, which translates to scentst. We translated these ‘Dutch skies’ into actual scents but in an everyday context.

The contrast between the exclusive nature of art and an application as a household product underscores the democratization of art and thus the exemplary role that Rijksmuseum plays in this regard.
